This Week...

What an eventful week!
I'll start it off with my favorite news...I've started a band!
Not many details are available for y'all, but I'll keep ya updated!

I'm starting to do a LOT more YouTube based things.
Right now I'm working on an interviewing thing that I should have done by at least next week. Ties in with my broadcasting stuff that I'm doing in school, so that's something. I promise it'll be entertaining.

"Good for boredom" = my YouTube slogan.

Here's a nine-minute video that I made to compete w/ someone VERY special. Probably the only time I'd do a vlog (since blogging's wayyy better), but here it is:

Something else, done by Team Dream Productions (of which I am apart of), are two new videos done by my bro Davis Matthews (@Darkprince7893) and I:

...We never said we were good people.

So yeah, that's about it. I mentioned my interview thing I'm working on, also got footage of a musical project I took part in. For whatever reason, FlipShare says YouTube's limit is 10 minutes, which hasn't been true for like 2 years now. So I gotta trim that done, which takes forever, but I'll update this when it's uploaded!

No new Freakin' Awesome Network article this week. Laziness took over. REALLY need to put an end to that.

Thursday, 10/20, I MIGHT be on an online internet show from 1-3 PM, called The Dirty World. Really fun people in there, always a blast. Last week we talked about flavored condoms and edible panties, so who knows what'll be talked about next week? Listen then at www.undergroundcolumbus.com

That's it for this week. Next week for sure new things will be up for your entertainment values.

Updates

Hola there, weirdo people.
Got a few things goin', not a lot tho.

First up, my newest Freakin' Awesome Network article is up.
I preview, in no order, Mutemath, Zola Jesus, Feist, Jack's Mannequin, and a rather unknown band called Standing Shadows, and they are, simply put, awesome. Check them out, for real. There's not a lot of rock and roll around these days, but they aren't hiding.
Also check out the other articles on there. I just found out someone went to the Alternative Press Expo and I'm entirely jealous that I wasn't invited! How dare you!

Next, I put up a new YouTube video.
It's not much, but it's fun! Features my bro bro the Dark Prince, it's basically Grand Theft Auto Cribs.
In fact, the title is 'GTA Cribs.'

So go out, watch the video, read my article, support me!

Get Me Famous

Welp folks, I think I've just thought up of a grand idea...

I wish to start a campaign.
What will it be called, you ask?
"Get Me Famous"
That's right. GMF, for short.
The basis of GMF is simple -- I want to be famous. How that could be possible is also simple.
Ways include:
-Tweeting about me, my Twitter, my Blogspot account, or my YouTube videos.  (New one's coming up shortly, btdub)
-Telling everyone you know that you know someone that wants the world to know he's out there, and wants to be seen.
-Giving me ideas on how to get famous.

Any of those ways will work. This can work, if I make this happen.
But I need EVERYONE'S help. This can only be done by you, the people, the readers, the (probably not) fans.
I will tweet about this particular blog post a LOT, so followers, be warned.
I'm determined, for once in my life.

Da Movies!

Ryn doing these made me realize how I should really start keeping these up to date.
Her URL's too long to remember, so I'll copy and paste it.
http://cogitationsfromapersonofletters.blogspot.com/

Since I got ya'll here, gathered around the campfire as I tell you stories of my failures, I'll lighten the mood up and talk about movies!
There are plenty of movies I wanna see coming up.
First up is Drive Angry.

Now, I'm a fan of action movies. Especially Jason Statham flicks. But, he's not in this movie.
But that's besides the point.
Nevertheless, this movie looks bad ass to the max (yo).
Like a no-nonsense, doing the action for the action film, kinda movie. Like the Crank ones. (Which were very under-rated)

Next up, Red Riding Hood.
Talk about somethin' different.
A fairy tale, made into a horror film.
How awesome!
Leo DiCaprio is producing it, so it'll surely be somethin' good.

A title that is pretty self-explanatory...Kill the Irishman
Not sure what it's about, but apparently it's a crime drama, much like The Godfather movies, so it'll be somethin' to watch.
And Christopher Walken is in it.
I hope I don't disappoint you by NOT doing a 'More Cowbell' reference...

Finally, Sucker Punch
Hott, right?
Pervs.
This film looks like it could potentially be a 2011 Oscar nominee.
But I have no idea on things like that. Then again, who thought 'The Wrestler' would be nominated?

So there ya have it.
That's kinda what I wanted to do awhile back, but never got around to it.
I suck at previews, I know.

As always, you can get to me through...
Twitter (http://twitter.com/)
YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/rockstarrevival)
And of course, right here, at Blogger.com!

This Ain't Just the Coolest...

^^^Justin Credible reference. Boom.

Like I said on Twitter (@TYFDK), today's been quite alright.

New Black Keys video is fucking fantastic.
"Howlin' For You"

It was described as being 'Grindhouse-esque.' As if I needed another reason to watch a new Black Keys video.
The hott chicks help.

I'm a little pissed off right now, because I had a song in my head all day, and I wanted to listen to it when I got home, and yet...I don't remember what it was.

Free stuff is good. Wanna give me somethin' for free? I'll take it!
My family recently switched cable providers, which is great news, because I can't stand Time Warner.
Frontier, we don't even have you yet, and I already love you.
We got a free TV AND Blu-ray player for signing up for them. How the hell can you beat that? You can't.

Ali...I hope you feel better ASNAP.

Anyone ever read The Other Paper?
Literally the best newspaper out there. And, to go along w/ the unofficial theme, is free.
I know for a fact I'm gonna be heading down to the local bar down the road from me every Thursday to pick up a copy.
And, I mean, they love "Lunch Lady Land." Can't beat that, now can ya?
You can follow them at twitter.com/OtherPaperCols

Every calendar's days are numbered. I wise man just put that as his status. I love that wise man.

Short blog today, I know. Probably a lot more I wanted to talk about. Oh yeah...
BIEBAH!

Justin Bieber, the Canadian sensation who has swept girls, moms, and cougars off their feet.
Is it really fair to hate him?
I mean, he was brought to light by Ellen DeGeneres, then talents such as Usher and Ludicrus noticed him, and took him under their wings.
The man is on fire, ever since last year, and from what he told Ellen yesterday, he's more than likely NOT going to go down the path that other child artists have, which will only help him out in the future.
Still not a fan of his music though.

Talk to ya'll tomorrow.

Face on the Milk Carton

First things first, I wanna say thanks to the 3 people who actually commented on my Rock on the Range coverage. Means a lot to me. Everyone else, what the fuck?

So this is the first blog since those started, and now it's refreshing...but I don't have much to say.
Well, unless you count the fact that I lost hope in everything I do. But no one wants to hear that, if they don't read those articles.

Guys wanna hear a joke?
Cinnamon Toast Crunch being a good cereal.
HARDY HAR HARRRRRR!
If I were funny, that'd be funnier.
But I'm not, so now you're left with seconds of your life being wasted by reading that. So in the end, I win.

And that's just an adjective describing the noun known as Connor.
Win.
Being a winner is hard, ya know?
But it's worth the effort.

Yesterday was the day I realized I'm a Glee fan.
2/8/11
Never forget.

........Too soon?
Probably.

I think I'm listening to Rihanna's "S&M" right on. Ballsy song. Haven't caught the video yet, I'm gonna have to do that sometime tomorrow.

You guys probably don't know who Jesse Hughes is. He's just about the biggest fucking rockstar in the entire fucking universe. Most underrated man on the planet.
He's dance moves are impetuous, his grooving is impregnable, he is just ferocious.
Well, like I just said, his dance moves are incredible. Just my hero is all he is.
Here's a video of the man. Just infectious.

By now, no one has read this, or they stopped after the Never Forget part, so I'll be back tomorrow with more random terribleness.

Til then,
The straightedge rockstar says to follow the shit out of him on Twitter.
Here it is, bitches

A Look at Rock on the Range 2011 (Part 2)

Continuing from the other day, this is the second part to my coverage of the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, happening on May 21st and 22nd.
Tickets for this event launch 4 days from now, and there's quite a strong possibility they might sell out, due to overwhelming responses in previous years. The popularity of Rock on the Range has gotten so big, it produced a spin-off type event in Ontario annually, starting in 2009.
Columbus is a growing city, with such projects and upcoming events such as Wonderland Columbus that it will eventually be quite more well known to the whole country as a big city. Rock on the Range helps add to that, being one of the biggest hard rock festivals around, as I mentioned in theh previous post.
Without further ado, here's the second half of the bands performing at the Rock on the Range.

A Look at Rock on the Range 2011 (Part 1)

Spring time is coming up. The spring, the season where the weather starts to heat up, also affects the music. Spring is the time music festivals start. Festivals of which can feature any and all types of music. But one in particular is one dearest to us Columbus-ites. That one, is Rock on the Range.
Started in May of 2007, this annual event held at the Crew Stadium every May has become one of, if not the biggest hard rock festival in the entire country. The first ever ROTR was headlined by ZZ Top, and the following year, Stone Temple Pilots played their first show together for the first time in nearly seven years. (Save for a private concert in LA, and an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!). The 2009 event was the site of the last concert in the United States by Avenged Sevenfold with their drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, who passed away on December 28th of that year.
With this years festival comes the highly anticipated return from hiatus of A Perfect Circle.
Let's take a look at the other bands and artists appearing at this years ROTR on May 21st and 22nd.
